Transmission line project with the Iraqi Ministry of
Electric to supply towers, conductor and accessories
(a 2 million dollar project). Last
year SEC was appointed as agent for Alcoa Fjikura for Iraq. The Alcoa Company will supply various accessories
to the towers that WE are providing.
- Rehabilitation of the Baiji Gas
Turbine Station 24 million
- Rehabilitation of the Daura
Power Station 53 million
interesting
projects which are holdovers from the time of
UN MOE protocols to CPA administration and to
a
variety of changes within the Iraq Ministry
of Electricity. In
these projects, we are the exclusive agents
for the Seimens Company
in Iraq
- Lease
of 7 furnished, modular office buildings at Camp Victory ($125,000
per year lease)
- Design,
supply and construction supervision of 4 grain storage
facilities
in Aqaba and Amman, Jordan. ($10 million project)
All
equipment supply for this project is from North
America with structures coming from the Canadian
Grain related companies and all machinery from US companies. The
project in Jordan,
in fact, provides a wonderful place for R&R for
our staff as the project is exactly on the Red
Sea and our staff can spend a few days on
a wonderful beach and first class hotels to rejuvenate
from time to time

US Dept
of Defense – Iraq:
In the past
year we have finished 3 projects for the Corps of Engineers
in Iraq
- Contractor Village at Camp Victory ($1.2
million)
This project
proceeded smoothly until we were hit with 2 terror
attacks on the incoming convoys from Amman. Since February, we have revisited the subject
of security frequently. Since
adding the security company Consultec to
our team, we thankfully have not suffered any losses.
- Supply
and lease of 7 modular, furnished office units at Camp Victory. ($125,000)
- Supply of 4 modular buildings
and a storage building at Ramadi. ($100,000)
- Our
challenge in this case was to find Iraqi Nationals
willing to work
in the
troublesome area of Ramadi.
We’ve
worked for others as well:
- Modular furnished office
building for the Italian Army ($25,000)
- This
project came to us as USACE people at Camp Victory recommended
us to the Italian contingent. The
assignment was conditional on my routing for the
Italian soccer team in Euro 2004. Not
a difficult accommodation!
- In Kirkuk the
Taza Power
Station, the supply and installation of a telecommunication
system and the supply and erection of prefabricated
buildings. ($2.6
million)
- The rehabilitation of an overhead crane at
Daura Power Station. ($1.7
million)
